Motivation for the location:
Mereni commune is located in Constanța county, a county with a very low degree of afforestation. Only 5% of the surface is represented by forests.
The plot forested in the spring of 2021 and 2022 is located in the village of Ciobănița, and has received the status of degraded land as a result of grazing and intensive agriculture. This area is located at the edge of an already existing forest and aims, in addition to rehabilitating the degraded soil, to increase the forested area for the welfare of the local community.
