Giubega Commune is located in the southern part of Dolj County, an area severely affected by desertification and soil degradation. The region frequently experiences extreme weather events that damage crops and accelerate soil erosion. The forest being established with the support of the local community will help restore the soil, create a biodiverse microclimate, increase moisture and encourage rainfall, while reducing wind intensity and the impact of storms.
